The adventures and roamings of a silly cow
Michele W. reminds us, with this week’s WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge that:
“When someone says “art,” they often use it as shorthand for “paintings and sculptures.” Art is everywhere, though: in nature, in architecture, in literature, and more. It’s anywhere we see beauty and meaning.”
We could not agree, more.
This is a delightful reproduction of a hotly-contested “piece of art;” part of Andy Warhol’s “Campbell’s Soup Can” series. We say “hotly contested” because in our experience, if you bring these up, people seem to freak; either for or against their artistic relevance.
For me, that’s what makes a good piece of art…it’s ability to evoke something.
We found this gem as a unique part of a headboard mural in downtown Salt Lake City’s Radisson Hotel. They are renovating their rooms and chose to go (at least for us) blissfully non-traditional. Bravo, Radisson! Bravo!
And, a picture of the piece in it’s natural setting.
