Maya Angelou…Another Great Loss

Another bright-burning soul leaves a vacancy in our earthly world…my heart is heavy. Thank you for sharing your gifts, wisdom, and strength with us while you were here, Ms. Angelou. We bow to you…

I can never express how this woman gave me the courage to share parts of myself with others; parts I thought no one would ever want to see. She helped me speak of that which others encouraged me not to. She helped me see that cages, after a certain age, are self-imposed. She helped me be brave. She helped me live.

Tears are falling all around the world, I assure you.

Alone (by Maya Angelou) WP_20130826_025[1]

Lying, thinking
Last night
How to find my soul a home
Where water is not thirsty
And bread loaf is not stone
I came up with one thing
And I don’t believe I’m wrong
That nobody,
But nobody
Can make it out here alone.

Alone, all alone
Nobody, but nobody
Can make it out here alone.

There are some millionaires
With money they can’t use
Their wives run round like banshees
Their children sing the blues
They’ve got expensive doctors
To cure their hearts of stone.
But nobody
No, nobody
Can make it out here alone.

Alone, all alone
Nobody, but nobody
Can make it out here alone.

Now if you listen closely
I’ll tell you what I know
Storm clouds are gathering
The wind is gonna blow
The race of man is suffering
And I can hear the moan,
‘Cause nobody,
But nobody
Can make it out here alone.

Alone, all alone
Nobody, but nobody
Can make it out here alone.

Lovely tribute. I’ll assume Chloe did not help with it.
